About

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR) Parade Committee Auction Team leads the annual "Parade Auction Party" fundraising event that fuels its community impact. Since 1993, the Parade Auction has generated vital support for the committee’s signature outreach: providing a fully funded, private parade-day experience for more than 2,000 special-needs children, adults, and their families including transportation, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments. Proceeds also underwrite a thank-you dinner for service members and purchase Rodeo tickets for the 50+ local police officers who volunteer to keep the downtown parade safe.

Working alongside the larger Parade Committee of 400+ volunteers, the Parade Auction Subcommittee plans and executes every element of the Annual Auction from securing donated items and experiences to staging the lively auction event itself. This effort directly supports the broader HLSR mission of Community & Entertainment: hosting one of the world’s largest annual rodeo and entertainment events, welcoming millions of visitors while fostering volunteerism and civic pride. Through this work, the Parade Auction Subcommittee helps ensure the Rodeo remains a beloved Houston tradition that brings people together in true Texas style.
